Garden Design

The plan for a private garden in Hertfordshire. The client wanted privacy from neighbours, planting that attracted bees, and somewhere to plant an apple tree and grow vegetables.

we make improving your garden an enjoyable, creative process, with you in control at every stage.

Below, the garden design process is broken down into key stages. You will be consulted throughout this process, ensuring you feel in control and happy with the decision making as the project progresses.

What you can expect

Initial Briefing

The initial meeting enables us to go through your brief, understand the type of design you have in mind and your vision for your garden. It is a chance for us to share thoughts and ideas based on our previous experience.

From here, we will summarise the discussion and present a list of options for the next stage enabling us to move forward to first concepts.

At all stages of the design process, we will factor in your comments and feedback before moving forward to the next stage.

First Concepts

After conducting site and soil surveys at your garden, we will produce an overall design concept which typically includes an analysis of the site, sketches and layout plans, and illustrations and elevations from different angles. We’ll also present indicative budgets.

Master Plans

Once the concept design is agreed, we go on to the masterplan stage. At this stage we will make master drawings, put together specifications, material samples and lighting options, and provide detailed structural drawings and planting plans. These are the plans and specifications from which the project can be accurately costed and finally presented to your landscapers for construction.

Construction

Once the hard landscaping has been completed, we would visit the site again to advise on the execution of the planting plan, and will be on hand to assist on plant sourcing, including any specialist trees and shrubs, if required.

We are based near Colchester in Essex, serving clients in Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and London.
